Heirs of Water and Fire

And my updating spree continues!

I can't take complete credit for this idea: one, it's completely unoriginal (Zutara children?! REALLY?!), and two, I was inspired by 's version of it with "Naruto" and SasuSaku. It wandered into my head, and it would not let me rest until I doodled it, and then I realized it would be more...well, better, colored. And voila.

Characters (from left to right)

1) Azroh. Eldest son and the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation. Firebender with his aunt's ability to superheat his flame to the color blue (also a nice nod to his mother's heritage). Serious and level-headed, which allows him to lightning-bend with ease. Is rather fond of tea, and is Iroh's disciple in this area.

2) Kyrah. Twin daughter. Waterbender prodigy. Inherited her uncle's sarcasm and her aunt's utter badassity (although luckily not her aunt's penchant for psychopathic evilness) and her mother's soft spot for the unfortunate, even though she'd do some serious damage to you if you pointed it out. Thinks piracy sounds like fun. As per tradition, she wears her great-grandmother's betrothal necklace.

3) Daraka. Twin son. Non-bender, but very skilled with his father's antique twin swords and the traditional Water Tribe weapons, especially the boomerang (he surpassed his uncle early on). Laid-back and easy-going, he is completely at ease with straddling two nations. Enjoys tinkering with the latest Fire Nation inventions in his spare time.

And I did my best to make this as genetically realistic as possible. So that means: Black, straight hair trumps anything lighter or curly; blue eyes may be recessive, but gold (hazel) eyes are mutated blue, so blue would be more likely; darker skin trumps paler, although there would be some mingling; bending has nothing to do with genetics (i.e., Katara's parents are both non-benders), but it probably doesn't hurt, and so two out of three ain't bad. And if you were a bender and Zutara was your parents, you'd be really, really good.

And all that purple? Yeah, that's blatant visual symbolism. C'mon...Red + Blue = what, now?
