Description
Yes, the title is a horrible pun. But I couldn't resist.
So this is the product of my random, tangential state of mind. It went something like this: "Huh, I seem to like things that come in groups of four--the elements, suits in cards...hee, that's funny, Hearts are like Fire, Spades are like Earth...I guess Water, or Ice, is like Diamonds, leaving Air to be Clubs...oh my god, I need to draw the Gaang as gangsters!!!!1" And that was that, as they say.
Why suits in cards equal gangsters is another question for...um, never.
I could write a story on this picture now. I'll refrain, but here's some more randomness to entertain.
Zuko, King of Hearts: The de facto leader of the hit squad Elemental Trace. Chain smokes and carries a pair of Desert Eagle .50AE handguns, and doesn't like to be reminded of his father or sister, both of whom are heavily involved in the Phoenix Syndicate.
Toph, Ace of Spades: The go-to girl when you want things destroyed in a very obvious fashion. Never takes off her aviators, and favors an AK-74 outfitted with a GP-34 40mm grenade launcher. Also likes setting mines, bombs, and other things that go "boom".
Aang, Jack of Clubs: The negotiator. Objects to violence as a method of getting things done, as he prefers to persuade with words and winsome grins, but carries an FN Herstal Browning 9mm (with double safety feature) just in case things get ugly. Pictured here juggling a grenade because we all know how Aang likes to juggle.
Katara, Queen of Diamonds: The sniper. Unlike Toph, you'll never see Katara's kills coming--either she's 500 yards away with her Arctic Warfare Super Magnum rifle, or you're too busy staring at her to realize she's just pulled her Glock Model 29 from her thigh holster and plugged you between the eyes.
Howzat for overly in-depth? That's what I get for being a writer first and an artist second. Hee.
Geez, after all that, I really hope you guys like this! It was a bit of an undertaking...

"Gaangsters" is perfect. Every bit of this is perfect.
Zuko- Love that he's smoking (not that I condone smoking).
Aang- Yup, if he had to be a gangster, that's exactly how he'd be. You worked in his colors perfectly. You must be very good with fashion.
Toph- Fave. Love her in a vest. I'm biased because she's my favorite in general. Though is it wise to give a blind person a gun? lol
Katara- I'm sure you weren't going for this, but there's an assassin group in the Game of Thrones series (well they're only in the books) called the Sorrowful Men. Right before they kill someone, they say, "I am so sorry." and it makes them a bit more creepy I think. She reminds me of that. And I love the skirt.
